I have a stand alone trash compactor next to the kitchen in a laundry room. Installing new Mannington AduraMax Apex in the whole first floor including the laundry.

What can I put under the compactor between the new floor to protect the floor finish? Im thinking some kind of mat with carpet or felt thats thick enough. Our current floor which is a vinyl type took a beating under the compactor that I didn't consider before.

We never have a issue of leaks from the compactor of any kind of liquids since we dont put any kind of wet trash in it. Its just the vibration from the compactor doing its thing.
