I know it's been a while but I'm wondering which grey color you ended up choosing and if you are happy with it? I am also trying to choose a Davis color and go for a natural modern look. I am also trying to blend it with Basalite Torino pavers which I'm using on the driveway. Thank you!

I had started another thread on this where I shared some photos of samples. I ended up going with Silversmoke and I love it. We are still a work in progress but here you go! I do love how the color turned out. It is close to the Basalite torino. I was so shocked at how dark it was when they poured it and it didn't lighten for several days. It's even lighter now after a few weeks and much closer to the Davis sample.

Does the concrete have a sand finish on it ? Wondering how the color gets affected by the different finish.

Thank you :-) The decisions are overwhelming! It seems ridiculous but choosing the color felt like a big decision as everything else kind of hinged on it. We didn't use a sand finish. More of a broom finish. My contractor "swept" over the concrete after it was poured. So there are very fine lines. Barely noticeable, but enough to provide texture and make it non-slippy.

Quick question.
My contractor said silversmoke is “blueish” and would possibly ‘clash’ with my existing gray fire pit. Would you describe it as being more blue-gray than brown-gray? And yes, it’s possible I’m overthinking ! I liked it because to me it looks like concrete color that’s a bit more ‘clean’. Anyway, I realize you’re likely busy making other non-concrete related decisions; I appreciate your input. My other option at this point is to go with no color and sand finish.

oh gosh, I am not an artistic or creative person (which is partly why I struggled so much with this decision). Now that you say it, I do think there is a blue-ish tinge to the color. I was trying to avoid a pink tinge so I guess I erred on the side of blue. But it really depends on how it catches the light. I think I see the blue more in the bright light. I did't actually notice this though until you pointed it out now!

Maybe the light gray Davis color is more of a gray, but this is darker I think. I took another photo just now to see if I could capture the color better. I placed a Basalite Torino paver on top for comparison. I am not sure this shows the color any better but maybe it helps.

For a few days, I did regret coloring the concrete at all and wished I had left as is. But my designer told me it looks more elegant now with the color and I think she is right. Another factor to consider is reflectiveness of a light color (mentioned earlier in this thread). This was not much of an issue for my walkway but if it's a patio area, I think that might matter.

A follow up... as time has gone on, the color has become more blue-gray and is now clashing with the warmer gray of the basalite torino. @Mari Lee your contractor was right about silversmoke being more of a blue-gray color. This is emphasized now by the contrast with the dark mulch. We also added pebbles and I am wondering if this is pulling out the blue color more. In hindsight, I wish we had picked a different color or perhaps not even tried to color the concrete at all. The clash is colors is jarring and I am having major regret :-(

Has anyone used Davis light gray? Looking for a gray that leans brown not blue.
