Is it possiable that when you pulled the screen out some of the lint slid out and got trapped behind it?

To me it seems from the first pic that you put it in with the wrong side faceing in and out. Turn 180 and put i back in. As you can sr in pic 1 the handle part does not fit in the cutout in the machine part.

I tried several ways and it does not slide back in. Strangely if you look for the parts (Lint screen combo) it is also the same thing. I also thought the same thing as well.. It is so strange

Looks like you have dried rubber backed rugs. Most time when the filter won't fit flush or one side is higher than the other, there is lint build up down in there. Usually either at the bottom of the filter or in the groves it fits in. Look in there with a flashlight and see if you see it. You can vacuum it out if your crevice tool will fit. If not a bottle brush might reach it or they make brushes for this. Check at Lowe's or Home Depot.

You can also take the plastic piece that is inside the dryer ( screws are there) off and then it should be easier cleaned. Then replace grill inside. It has the moisture sensing bars attached to it.

First try taking out the filter, put the dryer on air fluff/ no heat and start it. See if you hear junk blowing out the vent. Try that several times in a row. I have held the door switch as it ran and pull the filter up and down with dryer running and it will dislodge some of that. I have dried rugs that seemed fine when they went in and came out with a filter full of crumbles. Let us know if you get it solved.

It seems like the lint screen itself will not fit base on it visually and physically as well. Strangely it was able to drop right in all the way to flush it out before. I am baffled by this myself.

I will try. It is actually very strange. I am not even sure how it was able to slide down for the past 4-5 years. It is not like an ancient model but visually it does seems impossible to go down. I do not even thought about that before as it always slide down. I wonder if some service man that came from AHS home shield swiped it and change it accidentally?

That triangular tip at the bottem of the filter slides into a groove at the bottom of the filter receiver compartment. My groove had some lint compacted into it, preventing the filter from sliding in all the way to where the top was flush with the dryer opening.

I recently ran into this issue about 2 months ago. I thought it might have trapped lint but after cleaning that out it did not help. What I discovered was the plastic piece on the inside somehow warped and was preventing it from sliding in. After analyzing it more I loosened the two screws on the inside of the dryer holding the plastic pieces of the lint trap together. That allowed me to fully push the lint trap down. That is actually when I saw that the inside plastic piece had warped. I then screwed it back together. Put only a towel in and ran the dryer on high for about 40 minutes. Speculating this would restore the proper shape of the piece that was warped. So far this has worked. Recommend if you do run the dryer on the highest setting during normal operation you do not pull the lint trap out until it has somewhat cooled. Not sure how it warped in the first place but I think that it was run on high the lint trap was pulled out and the plastic piece warped. My wife normally does the laundary so not sure exactly what happened. I just fix things. :)
