Ceiling light globe replacement?

Hi all,
I had this terrible glass globe ceiling light when I moved in. I had to take it down! What else can I do with this single bulb light? I know a can light would be best, but hoping to not have to pay the $ to do that. Not too comfortable installing electrical things on my own.
Thanks for any suggestions.
