I separated the sport in 2014, left it in a pot over the winter, then planted it the following year. It has been moved around a bit but in this spot for third year now. It amazes me each year. The green stripes are interesting, the plant is so sturdy and like a bright, golden beacon mid summer! This is our hottest summer by far with temps in the 30's almost being the norm, but it does really well in the sun. It is in shade until around 11-11:30 then in full sun until sundown. It has settled in well and adjusted to all that sun exposure. It should be fairly ugly by now but it is not. I have been watering more this year though, considering the intensity of the sun. I love this hosta!

Josephine I may just move this to a sunny location similar to yours. I have Komodo Dragon, Dreamweaver and Niagara Falls in the sun getting fried. I am in Montreal so weather is pretty similar to yours.

Oh boy does that look familiar, I hate to say it... but my Guacamole, S&S, Winter Snow and two recent divisions of Krossa Regal are frying in the sun here too. The worst they have ever been. :(.

You are not alone with the sunburn woes. I am to blame as I moved G, and WS earlier this season (May) and KR was divided to give GE more elbow room. Heat stress and transplanting does not make for a pretty plant, lol. S&S wasn't moved but it is just too hot for it...I will take the blame again as I didn't get in there early enough to drench it. It was just too hot to go outdoors. But I do have the majority of them looking pretty good despite the heat - they are all in the ground.

Bluerose, I would love to move some more out and relocate but I dare not, yet, until this heat lightens up. I have moved hostas during the summer many times, but this year is brutal. I am wondering if you will decide to wait for cooler weather before moving your GS? Or the trio as well. Maybe the fall? (It really is too hot to labour in the garden and the evenings and mornings aren't much cooler.) I usually go around and rip the crispy parts of the leaves off unless I have my scissors...then I actually spare a few seconds to trim them nicely, lol. Poor hostas.
