Hello out there! We’re about to start the tear out of our kitchen for a complete remodel. My problem is, I’m stuck on the backsplash. The photos below show my sketch and my countertop (suede grey) and my cabinet color which is an off white.

I’d like a classic subway underneath the cabinets, but something that will pop for above the stove which will have 42 inches of a bland canvas. I really want a shade of white. Do we go stark white, off white to blend with the cabinets? Glossy or matte? Or would a shade of grey be okay too?
