This is our new house that had quite an abandoned yard. We've done a lot of work cleaning it up, and have a pretty simple design happening right now. We planted boxwoods in front of the house, we have a Japanese maple on the left corner of the house and just planted a white hydrangea on the right corner. On the right side of the house we planted a row of hostas. We've been removing plants but haven't planted anything on the left side of the house along the chimney. On the front corner are some white rose bushes that I planted but they're still tiny and you can't really see them. We're also trying to reseed the grass but it's taking awhile.

We would like to add some planters to the porch and thought about adding window boxes to the top three windows.

At some point I would like to change out the gold lights, numbers, and door accents. We're switching to oil rubbed bronze in the house but I'm worried it will be too dark on the exterior.

I would also like to paint the front door...maybe red? I want to add some seating as well, most of the neighbors have two adirondack chairs in their front yard. I thought about painting them the same color as the front door to add some more color, but am definitely open to other suggestions.

I'm not sure what to plant along the chimney side of the house either.

Any other suggestions on how to spruce this colonial up? Thank you for your help!
