I think you need to place the furniture first then have the chandelier centered over the table. Right now the room is more traditional than modern or mcm

Agree. Get your furniture first. The fan is fine, if you like having a fan to keep you cool.

Your selection for a light will depend on the shape and size of the table and the size and height of the area.

We agree, once the furniture is placed, you will be able to see what shapes will work in what space. You could perhaps replace the fan with a flush or semi flush light if you don't want the fan.
