Need help tying couch and media console together

I have a light grey couch and a wooden dark brown and black media stand. I still need a rug and a coffee table but am having trouble tying the two together. I want the space to be light as I live in a loft like space. Help!

You really could go in any direction, since gray and brown are such neutral colors. Since you've got a modern look going, I'd maybe get a colorful Moroccan geometric rug and some kilim pillows to brighten and warm things up:

A glass and metal coffee table with that great rug would look good.

Sorry, rooms are not designed by parts in isolation. Give us a photo of the room with the media console and sofa in place. The two pieces you show us are absolutely compatible; you shouldn't need to do anything special to tie them together.

I agree with groveraxle. We need to see the space they are intended for so we can take into account the lighing and surrounding colors of the space.

It is important to be able to visualize the space to provide you with the most complete, custom-tailored design solutions. In the interim, general suggestions can be offered with the caveat that they may not be suited to your space. If you are looking for a light colored rug, I've seen the Hazy Lattice rug from West Elm help brighten a space. The Retro Tripod coffee table also from West Elm might help tie the media stand and couch together with its walnut veneer.
