Neither option. Two different faux woods next to each other just won't work. Either run the same laminate into the spaces with carpet, or replace it all.

And avoid gray faux wood floors. They are trendy, which means they will soon be all over the place, and then no longer popular. A natural looking brown floor will have longer lasting appeal and is more flexible style wise - unless you absolutely love gray floors and will love them popular or not.
