On a renovation what should come first: floors or kitchen?

Hi all ! I need to change the floor for the entire house ( 2,000 SF) popcorn removal, new lighting, new baseboards, and remodel the kitchen. All GCs that had came to see the house said that the floor AND kitchen should be done at the same time. The thing is that none of them has convinced us that they are the right person to do our kitchen.
We don’t know where to start?? Thank you in advance for your advices.

I'm not sure what the specific issue is.

The order of renovation is to install flooring and then install the kitchen. That is because the cabinets will be installed over the flooring.

Whether you have found the GC you want to hire isn't the issue as whoever will hire will perform the job in the normal sequence.

Once the kitchen design is finalized(that has to be first), the next step should be popcorn removal. Then lighting(one reason the kitchen design has to be done).

At this point, seems to me the entire kitchen should be finished, if that minimizes traffic on the new kitchen floor.Doing the entire house flooring before the kitchen means extra construction activity on a new floor, which can easily result in damage.

Demo the kitchen and do the flooring, then what painting/etc. is necessary, cabinets and so on.

Then the rest of the flooring and baseboards last.
