What is there now - bead board wallpaper or maybe a faux bead board pressed fiberboard panel? And you are consider replacing it with a more realistic / wood bead board panel?

I have bead board in my laundry room - which is also a mud room and like the look very much - but it is also my style. I like a cottage style and have bead board in a few places in my home. In some areas like my powder room, I have the wallpaper, but when I replace the countertop, I will put the real bead board in.

I sure would not remove beadboard and replace it with more beadboard, I do understand that you would be upgrading product, my thoughts are that it's just a laundry room, not the front hall.

New floor will be multi color slate in a 6x24 herringbone pattern.

Then adios beadboard. Paneled doors, beadboard wainscot, multi-color herringbone floor all together in a small room is just too much., too much pattern & texture.
