My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Gill Greenclaws from UK...?

Does anyone know where Gill is? It's been quite awhile since I've read any posts from her. It seems like since Fall/Winter of 2017. I found one of her old posts & clicked on her name, but got a message back saying the page didn't exist. Not sure if that is due to the new GW, or if she deactivated her account. I sure hope all is well. Come back, Gill! We miss you!!!

    Hello everyone! Phew, it’s taken some getting back into my account, I had huge probs with the site late last year as I couldn’t post or answer, things went missing etc and I got totally ticked off with it and in my frustration I deactivated my account. I then later on missed using it as I could only read what was going on and not contribute. I’ve been trying all summer to start afresh with completely new login info, but couldn’t, and an attempt to contact Houzz didn’t work so I gave up in the end, but kept reading! After reading this thread last night I tried another way and have just had a msg to say my account has been reinstated! Thanks you all for the posts above, I never thought you would miss me.

    So, I’ll put you in the picture a bit more....

    I’m fine thanks, still missing my lovely late d/h but am learning to cope better.

    My fractured pelvis is also fine, the bad weather kicked in almost as soon as I was home s being confined to the house and not able to get out was horrendous! So I was determined to get in the car and was back at the wheel 4 weeks after the incident with no probs whatsoever, it was just an darned inconvenience!

    Yes, I did lose well over half my g/h plants, not just my jades but many others too and also several garden plants as we had dreadful snow and very low temps till the end of March. That downsized my collection for me but I have since done some selective passing on and planting out of potted plants too to try and cut the workload down even further.

    My family are all good and I’m enjoying spending more time with them and my other family members and friends as mentioned above, thanks.

    Finally my Adeniums and Jades, the reason why we are all here I guess! There doing good too. I have just the seven now, three of my original 2008 seed grown obesums, a ‘Dang Siri‘ that was gifted to me in 2010 by Brian a former poster on here, and my three ‘Bouquet‘ Arabicums grown from seed that Rick kindly sent to me. The Dang Siri flowers each year and so do my three obesums...one each of white, pink and red. I have around 6 jades left, even one of my big ones from 1999 turned to mush. I’m not going to replace any, so will carry on with what’s left.

    Ok, well, I guess that’s it in a nutshell! Hope to be able to get back into the swing of things, maybe at what is generally a quieter time here on the forums but I’ll try to post as and when.

      Oh nooo!!! I hope this isn’t true about her account:(. Was thinkin about her too:).

      Hopefully she’s ok and just got annoyed with all the changes to Houzz.

      I seem to recall in a post quite sometime ago that there was another UK member and they talked about meeting up somewhere...? Something like that. A show maybe or a nursery...?

      If I’m recalling correctly I’m hoping this will get their attention and they will chime in with some news of Gill.

      Gill was the one that started this forum. I thunk I remember her falling and breaking her pelvis on a trip abroad late last year ...

      The Adenium forum, yes. I remember her talking about that accident, too.

      This past winter while on holiday,her greenhouse got too cold and I remember most of her plants froze. Maybe she’s taking a break from the plant scene

      So good to hear from you! Sounds like you’ve had quite a time of it.

      YES, you have been missed. It seems that a number of people had problems and got fed up with GW and all of the changes they made. I know I don’t check in or post as often.

      I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say WELCOME BACK and looking forward to reading your posts.

      Thanks so much for the thread, reading it made me have another go and Houzz let me back in! I was just checking my pics to see if I’d still got some of my plants this year with those elusive flowers (for me anyway!) just going to try a thread and see what transpires as I’ve read in MariaElena’s thread that some have had issues, so let’s see if I‘m another one of them......

      Keep tending to your plants, whether they be Adeniums, succulents or your garden. Taking time to care for our plants is a wonderful way for all of us to de-stress and to help us heal....Again, glad to have you back.

      Wow, thanks to all above who I haven’t thanked personally on here this is so unexpected and I’ll definitely be posting again from now on.

      Sadly my CC’s have declined despite being in the house, the largest ones stretched out even with the hottest and sunniest summer we have had since 1976. I still have a couple of small ones but they’re struggling. They’re even more fickle than Adeniums!
