Runner placement — advice needed

Hey all. I am trying to decide whether it would look better to do one long runner down the hall beginning at the front door or to leave a small mat inside the door and start the runner at the stairs. As you can see the door is off center from the hallway so I wasn’t sure what might look best. Please share your thoughts!
