It is a log home with and open loft second floor. the entry to master bedroom is at top of stairs. The wall to right above the stairs will hold sliding door. The height of the wall is 9ft 6". We have 2 options for the door. A pine barn style door standard height or a wood door with glass panes 8ft tall. We are undecided on how to fit the barn door and trim out the door frame with the walls being over 9ft. we have access to rough cut timber and a planer. Most of the door frames my husband has built himself and they turned out great, but this sliding door has us stumped. It is sliding along the wall above the stairs. We have iron railing that we havent installed yet. There will be room for handrails because the stairs are extra wide. we have pics of both sides of the wall. partially done. We have cherry lumber 2" thick and 10ft long 12" wide. Didnt want to go chopping it up unless we were certain how it would look. Any suggestions would be great thank you.
