We have a 26 year old house with aluminum, single pane casement windows, in a hot , hurricane prone climate near the ocean. Looking for a good option with good warranty that does not exclude salt water. The existing windows are water and wind tight, no obvious frame corrosion but the hinges and locks no longer align, so can not open and close without a crowbar to lift the window.
Looking at :
1. Marvin vs Andersen fibrex vs Milgard fiberglass/double pane/low e/ possibly laminated glass
2. Aluminum w low e ,double pane, laminated glass

Milgard states aluminum is not good near the ocean salt.
Marvin impact resistant choices do not include fiberglass unless it is fiberglass plus wood.
3. I have read vinyl is not strong enough for large glass windows ,nor for hurricanes.
4. Want to avoid wood d/t termite risk, maintenance, and contemporary style of house.
Any suggestions?
