Agree, a pretty calming color on the wall, leave the cabinets alone, get the junk from up off the top, declutter. I like the idea of a tilt out laundry bin instead of the open one. You can get those at the container store or online anywhere. Or DIY one.

I recently re-did my teensy-weensy laundry room by adding cabinets (which I hadn't had), painting it (Festoon Aqua by Sherwin Williams), adding a black decal that says "Laundry Room" with lots of soap bubble decals, and putting some artificial succulents on the narrow window sill. I think the suggestion about the wicker baskets is an excellent idea. If I had the room, I would have purchased a small sign I saw at Hobby Lobby that said something about drop off laundry services being available. I get so many compliments on that room and I don't dread working in there anymore.

First I would see if you can pull the washer next to the dryer. That should work. Then fill the end on the left with something for storage or clothes basket. The washer door at the door is very inconvenient.

I see you don't have a hanging area. Is that possible to do in your space?

If you take out the cabinets, and replace, I would mount them higher from the counter and take them to the ceiling for concealed storage (for the stuff you have on top now). I would also consider leaving an area open at the end for a space to mount a drying bar for hanging clothes.

As mentioned above running under cabinet lighting is really a great idea. It will be so helpful in working.

The current color is ok. Because the room is small & no natural light, choose a light paint color.

The main thing I see is the cabinets are too short & or hung too low. Lift them up & put shelving below. It would make the space more functional and give the illusion the room is taller.

Just take time to gently take down then rehang. The cabinets look fine as is. There just hung too low.

By hanging lower the top shelves will be for less used items. Hang where you can reach in bottom cabinet.

Or get new white taller cabinets with crown to ceiling to hide everything inside.

I agree with painting a pretty color. Add baskets over the cabinets to hold the things on top. You could change out the knobs on the cabinets to a ceramic knob that coordinates with whatever color you paint. Add a colorful runner in front of the whole washer and dryer and a pretty piece of art to the wall on the right.

I love this laundry room for inspiration. Maybe it could be in the budget down the line to add a tile backsplash. One less expensive fix, for now, is adding a statement lighting fixture. Good luck!
