Without specific dimensions, it's hard to tell exactly what's going on with the kitchen. I can say, at first glance I see an expensive remodel and a plan that has a lot of room for improvement. Are you working with a draftsperson or designer? Architect??

HI - The kitchen plan is fine ... just take out the corner beside the range and just have a straight cabinet . That corner is too small for proper function and cabinet cost and it is not needed .

There are several issues with this Kitchen. To start...

• Location of refrigerator in relation to the sink
• Island is a "barrier island"...a barrier b/w the sink and refrigerator
• Location of the DW in the middle of the primary Prep Zone (counter b/w the range and sink)
• No oven landing space
• Oven in a busy aisle/path (path from the garage to the rest of the house)

I found a statement in your earlier thread about an in-law in a wheelchair...does this person help cook or cleanup when visiting? (Or, does this person live with you?)

With a wheelchair, aisle widths and turning radii become very important!

They don’t come regularly but uncertain in future if thy will move in. But don’t want to plan entire design for them. They are NOT helpful (regarding prep food, clean up) more of a casual sitter

With the caveat that I'm not an expert, what about something like this? You would have to rework the window on the exterior wall and the sink would not have a window, but the work flow would be much better, with both the ice-water-prep-heat flow, and separate cleanup and prep zones. Dishes would get stored in uppers by the sink, both the cleanup zone/dishes and the refrigerator would be accessible without going into the prep zone, and it would also give the oven a landing space. You could easily add a second dishwasher to the island if you wanted one.
