Bathroom tile selection help

last modified: 8 years ago

Hi guys, we are starting construction so I need to lock in this bathroom. Please see below for plans, finishes, and questions/concerns. I'm having commitment issues and second thoughts about things being too busy for a not so big bathroom.

Overall house feel: Cozy, rustic elements in the woods in the PNW. Bathroom has 1 north face 5x2 window in the shower, so there isn't a lot of natural light.

Finishes from bottom (floor) up. The pebbles, stacked stone, and cabinet color are staying. They all look beautiful together in person but I am concerned things will feel too dark and busy. (Yes I know the stone I picked and pebbles are dark, just don't want everything to be too dark)

1. Grey - floor

2. Pebbles: shower pan - Riviera gold

3. Wood - vanity and linen cabinet

4. Tan - vanity counter (open to changing - Pental Urban Sabbia)

5. Stacked stone - butterscotch ledger stone vanity to ceiling "accent wall"

Shower - ?

Questions.

1. Should we let the pebbles and stacked stone be the star by eliminating the grey floor, and have the counters, shower, and floor all one color?

2. Should we keep the grey floor, and have the shower and vanity match?

Thanks in advance.
