You can absolutely tape an iPad to your hood, if you want an LCD (liquid crystal display) :-)

Seriously though, if you want to replace incandescent (including halogen) or fluorescent lights with LEDs then that is almost always possible. But it depends a lot on 1) the hood, 2) the precise dimensions of the LED bulbs that you bought, and possibly 3) your ability to tinker.

I have yet to find a hood that I haven't been able to modify. In most cases, it's as simple as removing the halogen bulbs and inserting suitable LED bulbs. Sometimes, you lose the dimming ability when you do that, and the lights always stay at 100% brightness. Honestly, no big deal.

At other times, you might have to make small adjustments to the hood, as some LED bulbs are just a tad bulkier than halogen bulbs. Fortunately, hoods are almost always super easy to disassemble and you can easily access the light fixture if it needs mechanical modifications. On the other hand, if you don't feel comfortable with doing this, then pay the premium to order a ready made hood from the manufacturer.

Make sure you buy LED bulbs with the appropriate color temperature. I'd suggest something like 3000F and a 90% CRI, or better.
