I agree with Karen. White and blue are a fresh and clean pairing for a bathroom.

I agree white is a much better choice and no to any toilet lid cover or mat around the toilet base, find a fun piece of art for above the toilet

Agree with everyone on the white instead of dark brown and losing the toilet cover. Also, consider finding another mirror if you can switch out. Big fluffy white rug on the floor. Copper or gold colored vase with white, blue flowers and some greenery on the vanity.

Paint the walls white. Remove the toilet lid cover. Add art. If there is a boy using the toilet, you can decide if you will wash a toilet rug daily or mop daily.

And don't forget window coverings. Frosted glass gives only partial privacy.

There are paints available for different types of countertops. Never used them but might be worth checking into. You could consider tiling if you prepare the exiting surface and use a modified grout appropriate for the job. Otherwise, you can replace the counterop. Good luck!

Good job matching shower curtain with vanity. I would suggest you take out all dark brown items. Possibly spray table and frames above stool In silver or white. Remove towel ring under window and purchase a stand alone towel holder to set on vanity.

I agree with removing toilet cover and using white. the brown is too dark.

Assuming this is a rental and the landlord won't change anything... did you ever consider ( if you are going to be there a long time ) just offering to change the top and faucet?

That is a cultured marble top - it looks to be about a 60" vanity - you could get a new white top for a few hundred bucks

Don't reward a landlord who won't remodel. I like your shower curtain and your use of brown, but maybe you could add more of the blue towels? Or better, a patterned towel with blue and brown? The shower curtain does not have any matching towels?
