I need help achieving a stylish yet elegant and intimate looking formal living room. It is one large open space with the kitchen separated by a half wall. I recently bought a rug with colors I really like. There are many pieces I already know I need such as end tables, coffee table, tv console, new draperies, floor and table lamps.

Initial needs are to address the wall color if it needs to be changed, the fireplace decor and art, coffee table shape and material, and TV console wood color. Should it match the color of the mantle and frame?

Here's what is already in the works or constraints:
The sofas and rugs stay, but amenable to adding more chairs

Amenable to changing the color of the fireplace and marble frame, if hubby okays it.

TV stays
Drapes and rods will be changed out as well as hardware. Need to shop for fabric.

I like an elegant and clean yet cozy feel to a room. I also like an overall light look to a room and looking to do that with this room.
