Soap dispensers are great. For sure get that.

I don't have experience with lotion dispensers but think it might not be as great. I'd expect more clogging than I'd like, and a hassle with refilling.

I love my soap dispenser. I don't have the hose that goes to a bottle in the cabinet bottom . My bottle is directly under the counter and you fill from above. It has never clogged and I don't have to crawl under the kitchen sink to refill.

I wouldn't make a permanent hole in my counters for a dispenser that might break, rust, etc. I have seen too many that haven't worked properly to want to do that. I would stick with the decorative bottles that you can easily switch out if they break or you want something different.

Another detergent dispenser lover. I would not do a lotion dispenser as well because it would confuse anyone other than the primary user.

Love my dish soap dispenser and use it with the Never MT soap dispenser kit. We buy the big bottles of dish soap and rarely have to refill.

When selecting dispensers for the sink area consider how easy it will be to clean in and around the dispenser, how easy it will be to refill the dispenser, how well the dispenser will operate, the craftsmanship and quality of the dispenser, and the cost of the dispenser. I have a decorative bottle that sets on the countertop.

I had never considered those soap dispensers were for dish soap. I put hand soap in it at our last house and was frustrated when it didn't work well. We did just faucet and RO water spout for this current house.

If one is not the slightest bit handy, one might think that once a soap dispenser fails, one is doomed to keeping it as a useless thing in a hole on the counter. It turns out, however, that they are easily and inexpensively replaced should they break.

There are good reasons to not get one and there are good reasons to get one. Potential failure of the dispenser shouldn't be one of them.

I think I'm happy to use a countertop soap dispenser. They only take a minute to refill, and if they break they're easily replaced.

The one situation in which I think I would go with a built-in soap dispenser: If I had an island sink. With this layout, a soap dispenser would seem "clutter-y".

I’ve had a dispenser with a Never MT hooked up for probably 10 years. Love it! I wouldn’t do lotion, I’d just put an attractive bottle for that.

Teri I guess it would depend how far the shelves slide back. Here is a picture of what mine looks like. You would need room for the bottle to sit.

Over 12 years here with 2 sinks with soap dispensers with Never MTs. No problems at all. Quicker to fill than counter top bottles, take up less counter space, easy to keep clean, easy to replace if ever necessary and fill lasts probably five times as long as countertop bottles. Apart from initial cost, what's not to love?

We are having a hook installed under the sink to hold up the giant detergent bottle

I'm *supposed* to have a knee-push pull out for garbage and recycling, but I don't have it yet. The pull-out is there but the mechanism is wrong. They're trying to figure out what to order. But yes, it's because of that that I am going to hang the soap jug so the tubes don't get pulled on every time I open the cabinet. The contractor was supposed to buy the hook yesterday but I haven't seen it yet. I can take a picture and post it when I see it.
