Is the backsplash between the different cabinet heights the same soapstone as the counter top but not oiled?

It is the same soapstone, and oiled like the counters. It is just the light reflecting off it differently because it is on a different plane.

Yes. This one has quite a bit of green in it. In real life it is predominantly a very dark green. It is hard to capture the exact colour on a photograph.
