I have a few suggestions:

Pull the bed and stands out and awaya few inches from the window wall. Simple faux Roman shades hung over the blinds for the windows. Drop the blinds at night.

Turn the rug. Your feet want to step on carpet when you swing out of bed, not floor.

All I see is shadows. Paint the “ceiling” a bright white and the walls a deeper color.

is there any chance you could cut down the headboard so it can be lowered? I don't think it will affect the overall look of the bed.

I like the bed, the bedding, and don't mind that it covers the window too much, If the headboard could be lowered, that might help. But I think the biggest help would be to eliminate the wall sconces above the bed and install new sconces or lamps at the sides instead. It will give you a more balanced look.

Oh yeah, the rug either needs to be turned or be wider.

Can you cut the legs on the headboard?

A couple of articulating wall sconces will be way more useful than those things by the window. You can even get a plug-in style if you don't want to hardwire them.

I agree a new bed would be better with a lower headboard and if this is the only window in the space it should not be covered up as egress especially from an upper floor is always a factor.Could you post a floor plan and some pictures of the rest of the room .

Getting a new bed is the obvious answer. What about a nice old open metal bed that you can see through to the window to let more light in?

Along with all the other great suggestions here, I would get a blinds that retract from the top and the bottom. That way when the blinds are open they don't block the precious limited amount of window you have and can rest behind the headboard.

We don't think your bedroom looks bad at all, if it is possible to cut down the headboard or remove it, then we would. Getting a new headboard would be a great idea. One that is lower would make the most sense. We don't particularly like the chandelier or sconces, we would go with something lighter in both.

Imo, there's a bit too much [but lovely] in het room. There are 'bags' that slide under mattress, to sorta replace a night stand.

Nice to have a fan, but with stairs, and door hardware, to me 2 of them would look 'heavy'.

I would pull the bed away from the window by a foot or so. It looks squashed against the window. How do you get back there to operate the blind?

I don't mind the two fans, but I find the shades with their leaves too busy and demanding of attention. Can you swap the shades for a simple solid neutral color drum style?

I am also bothered by the framed pictures on the nightstands which I see as also visually competitive. It could be fun to hang them low on the vertical side wall(s) where you could see them when lying in bed or sitting in the chair.

I think you have done a great job with a challenging space. I like the suggestion of a lighter ceiling with darker more richly colored walls.

The top one looks slightly prettier to me, but they are so similar. If the price difference is substantial, I'd go with the lower-priced one.

Yes, that looks so much better and more spacious. I'd still try to make the window disappear though. I would get an outside mount roman shade the color of the walls and just leave it down all of the time since you say you don't need the window.

Hello! You've made some great improvements! Those lamps are so similar that I would go with the better price. The one change I would make is to get rid of the sconces. You have a LOT of light fixtures in that room and there is no need whatsoever for those sconces. Let the art work be the focus there. Right now the sconces just make it way too busy and the light from them is not right. The lamps, on the other hand, throw much better light. The same goes for the ceiling fixtures. I believe you mentioned perhaps putting fans up there? If so, definitely consider fans without lights. I don't think you need them. By cutting down on so many fixtures, it will "clean up" the room and quiet it down a bit. It's a really cute small space and needs a little quietness.

Looking crowded/busy with sconce lights, lamps and pictures. I'd remove the sconces. You want a soothing feeling here, not busy clutter.

Agreeing that 4 lights around the bed is too much.

Earlier posts showed 1 shade/ 2 sconces "grouped" into a whole [no table lamps]... Other showed wider window shade, ok in another way.

Which is needed more: sconces, or table lamps?

Or to widen the appearance of items on that wall - this type to hang neatly, with hook at the junction of the angles.

Great advice so far. I strongly agree about removing sconces, outside mint Roman, toning down the fixtures (choose fans with no lights that almost disappear), and I will add, consider toning down the black and white by painting the railing posts black.
