You can but you won't get the same results, especially in such a small container. Aerogarden success depends on a very fine line balance of ALL nutrients and minerals - which is why they include the fertilizer mix. And you'll have the fishy odor to contend with indoors.

Besides being lower in nitrogen the fish emulsion also doesn't have much potassium and phosphorus. Does it have a lot of the micro nutrients, yes, but it is not really a well balanced fertilizer per se. Plus there is the fact that synthetic and organic fertilizers act different in an artificial growing environment, which containers are. You can use the fish emulsion if you want. But there may be a bit of a learning curve involved.

Can I use Dynagro Foliage Pro, instead of the MG it came with? That would be what I'd recommend for an extremely high % of the plants you're likely to grow.

I don't see why not, unless I'm missing something. If a MG soluble product is deemed good enough to be included with the original set-up, there's no reason that FP 9-3-6 wouldn't work even better. You'll need to adjust the amount used so you're supplying the same PPM as that suggested for the MG product, though.

I've been using the 9-3-6 for a good while, for everything I grow. So far, the only 2 plants I've found that prefer something other than the 9-3-6 NPK %s are tomato and hibiscus. I still use it, but I adjust the NPK %s by adding additional K for both, and a little extra P for the tomatoes in the first half of the grow season. Other than that, I haven't found anything that doesn't relish it. Not to be critical of you, but my bet would be that there is something else in play other than your sweet olive not liking it. Too - I would think the instructions to top-dress with CSM would be directed toward growers who grow the plant in the ground, as opposed to in a container.
