Kitchen Lighting Help Needed

I am at a loss as to what type of light to put in my kitchen! I know I want it to give off about the same amount of light as this one but I don’t like the look of this at all (came with the house and is broken). I was thinking maybe a semi-flush mount? I’m not set on the pendants, they were a quick fix shade swap from Lowe’s. Any and all suggestions/advice welcome! (Please pardon my un-styled and messy kitchen)

I would bring in an electrician and have can lights installed around the perimeter. If that’s not in the budget, you may want to look at track lights. They will give you better placement and the opportunity to light the corners. Think about under cabinet lights, also. The pendants seem a little dark as well, but don’t concern me as much, since it’s not in a work zone.

Why don’t you pick a chandelier and two pendant lights that matches there is plenty of designs that you can pick from and another advice try not to use ones with covers it seems like you need lots of lights

IMO a track light with LED bulbs in daylight color so 3500- 5000k range will the br a much better choice than a pendant and give you a heck of a lot more light than you are getting from that fixture.Get some art on the wall and ditch the clock especially in a kitchen where you have clocks everywhere.Repacing the upper cabinet doors with frosted glass would make a huge difference too.

Yes, a semi-flush fixture would provide a lot of light from the center. You can use track lighting, starting from where the current pendants area, to illuminate the cabinets. Undercabinet lighting, hard wired or battery operated, will also help.

Track lights that can be adjusted to wash the face of the cabinets and LED's under the upper cabinets to light the counter top. Notice how the pendants over the bar draw a line of shadow above with light below. I don't think you want that. Switch to glass pendants for more light and avoid Edison bulbs which cast a yellow tone.
