Note that there are a lot of color options, including clear. So it depends on what glass you were looking at. To say solarban to green is too general.

It appears that impact solarban uses Starphire glass which is extremely clean. The link below will give you some info.

Thanks... I'm just so confused. They keep telling me that "only that color or darker Low-e" meeting building codes. I'm going to talk to them tomorrow.

There are different LoE levels, most commonly LoE-2 and LoE-3. LoE-3 tends to have people reporting they see a tint. I don't know about Florida Code, but I had never seen on this forum that the LoE-3 level is required instead of LoE-2. See if LoE-2 suffices. LoE-2 does not show a tint; LoE-3 often does depending on how the light hits it.

It looks like I have to have a SHGC of <.25. I looked at various glasses and very few meet that requirement.

Clear Glass has a slight green coloring/hue to it (not a tint) fromt he rion in the glass. Starphire is a clear glass with a low iron content to help eliminate this green hue. LoE-2 or double silver coated glass will also add to the slight hue. LoE-3 or triple silver will be a deeper hue yet.

In my HOA all our windows are bronze tint, but the one lone homeowner who purchased windows without the bronze tint, his glass definitely has a greenish tint to the glass.

I will say that despite the bronze tint, there are still problems with interior furnishings fading significantly over time, so you really need something to protect your furnishings and your eyes from damaging rays from the sun.

Your window manufacturer likely only offers glass from one manufacturer. You might have to switch to a different window manuf. to get a glass that has a different appearance.

Did you move forward with the PGT windoww? I live in Tampa too and currently looking into getting new windows unsure of what company to go with as an installer as well! It's so much money and don't want to go wrong ugh
