A 48” width single upper cabinet can have two 24" vertical doors or two 48" horizontal doors.

IMO it will depend a lot on the style of door , and the width of the cabinet.

It's too tall proportionately. It needs to be a stack. It's also too tall structurally unless it's a slab MDF door with veneer or paint. A 48" piece of wood will warp in your average home.

Most people don't have the required whole home humidity control that cabinet companies require. You can mostly squeak by if you aren't using long pieces of wood. 48" is too long. You won't squeak by.

Cut it something else. Do the stack.

Edit: Where are are you in the build? That kitchen has issues. I'd drop the ceiling to 8' and put the extra in the better layout.

Live_wire_oak. It’s a 30 year old home and unfortunately a very limited layout but that is the best we have been able to come up with. I’m no crazy about stacked cabinets because I feel like they either look busy or are so small you can’t fit anything decent inside.

I liked the stacked cabinets because you can install lights in them for a nice appearance in the ktichen

This is the current kitchen layout which is awful. We can not access the corner by the fridge at all. We put the oven/stove there temporarily. There used to be a built-in oven there that didn’t work. I want to get rid of the current cool top because I want a plain island for countertop space. We don’t really use the wine cabinet to its full extent and feel its wasteful.

Post an actual measured diagram in the Kitchens Forum here. None of this is worth spending money on at this point. It's not an improvement in workflow at all. Be sure to label where all the doors go, and go a rough sketch of the whole home, so that it's position n in the home can be seen.

Jennifer that looks beautiful! Did you have any issues with the doors warping that everyone talks about?

Inset doors are 3” shorter than full overlay. Also, painted cabinetry is best built from MDF, which is much more stable. Stiles and rails as well as the center panel.
