master bedroom built-in/bookshelves

Our new master bedroom has beautiful built ins with many open shelves. I have displayed many framed photos and a few vases and candles , etc, but I still have full empty shelves. I know o should create small vignettes/groupings but with what? Is it better to leave them empty vs filling with random stuff? Doesn’t look good to me either way!
