Nice set you have! IIRC, Tudor furniture is quite a bit heavier-looking with more ponderous carvings, which is a good thing, in my opinion. I like the overall lightness of your look.

The veneered surfaces are walnut, the turnings are soft maple, etc.

Since the turnings on the legs of the chairs do not match the table they were probably not a set. However I do have most of a bedroom set of that same time period. I purchased it as a teen and at that time it had a label stating it was manufactured in 1927 and sold by Sears. I lost the bedstead to a flooded basement.

I agree, linnea, the turnings are not identical but I thinbk that's because the legs on the chairs are much shorter so not all the turnings on the table legs would fit. But the turnings that are present on the chair legs match the table's leg turnings.

TBH the chair backs, especially the scroll at the top, make me wonder if that set isn't actually fairly recent. It would be interesting to see how they are constructed.

Compare the two legs. On the table there are indentations on widest section of the leg which do not appear on the chairs. If a set similar but smaller indentations should be there. At one time I knew what the indentations were called but not any more.

I see indentations. The light is not good on that part of the chairs in the photo, but I see them. I have a similar set of table and chairs. On mine the grooves are more prominent than on this set.

colleenoz, I find that scroll on the top of the chairs a bit odd as well.

I owned a table and chairs very similar to yours (still own the china cabinets) and see them often in local antiques stores. They all date to the 1920's.

they are a set.....like Coleen says....just slightly different for different parts

Here's my set: a variation. Both table and chairs have those vertical grooves on the round parts of the legs. You can see parts that are identical to the OP's pieces and parts that are different.

I never took closeups of the chairs but I think you can see them fairly well.
