Gosh, matching brick would be hard (or finding a complimentary brick). To my eye it differs too much in color and style. Can you post a photo of your home from farther back?

I would do the whole garage in board and batten, and not add the 4 foot brick veneer. Too busy. That gray does not look good with your house. What color is the board and batten?

I am just not sure about them. I don’t love our existing brick colour (but not an option to change) so ideally I want to do something different that compliments the home.

I agree on just board and batten. Adding another element without a tie in elsewhere will likely make the two structures look disjointed.

The color of the brick (or is that a stone?) seems to coordinate well with your dormers. As long as you keep the roof shingle color, architecture style, and board&batten of the garage the same as your home it will work fine. Plus, the new brick mimics your landscaping, which is a plus.

Can you post the elevations of your proposed garage?

The sample has no joints and doesn't look like brick but rather adhered or clipped-on dry-stack thin-stone. I would avoid mixing brick and stone on any house.

I faced the same issue once and used cedar shingles with a coursing similar to the brick with a matching/complimentary colored stain.

I wouldn't even use board and batten. That's more rustic than your house. I'd use Hardie Plank in the same width as your gable. And Hardie will now match the finish to any SW color.

Keep it simple. As suggested, use Hardie Plank in ONE of the warm shades of your brick.

Agree with dan. I would not use the stone. It doesn't work. Mixing stone and brick rarely works and it will make your garage stand out like a sore thumb.

Are you planning to apply masonry on the bottom 4 ft of the garage walls? If so, IMO that's an unfortunate fad that would not even be structurally possible if it were a real brick wall so to me it screams "fake masonry wall". Of course, it is a fake wall but I don't understand why you would want to advertise the fact.

Since looking at stone I really don’t think it is a good idea either I think I will go with a siding in a medium tan/brown tone that compliments our gable. I do want a DARK walnut garage door. This is the door style I have picked. I think it compliments the window arches of our home.

Garage doors are almost never the most important element in the facade of a house. Thus, rather than having contrasting doors and drawing everyone's attention to the garage, make the garage doors blend into the rest of the house by closely matching the color of the siding of the house.

Don't use stained doors since they will highly contrast with the rest of the house.
