I like both the second and third options. I would consider your interior remodel and choose a complementary style for the exterior. The middle photo tells me you have a cleaner more modern minimalist interior, where as the last photo I see a more traditional/transitional (maybe craftsman) style.

I would not add stone, but make the entry more enviting. Wooden (look) garage doors are lovely, but something needs to happen to let your attention flow towards the entry. Spend your money on a nice patio/porch and landscaping. Hire a local professional.

Agree - paint the front door so that it is brighter and stands out. Let the garage doors continue to blend into the siding color.

Very prety interior remodel. I see the front door now. If you don't like it, paint it. I like the tourquoise suggested above. A dusty orange or red would work also.

The interior is wonderful! Take your time with the outside. Again, put your efforts into landscaping and possibly a colorful front door. Here are some driveway border gardens. The curvy gardens draw attention from all that driveway. But do get a garden designer to help you plan a mix of perennials, grasses, shrubs, and mulch. If you get snow, then a gravel border of a foot or so alongside the driveway will keep salt away from the plants.

Is painting the trim and shutters a lighter color possible? And then darken the lights on each side of the garage doors. As it is they blend into the siding. I also agree with the majority that landscaping could really brighten things up! I noticed the ceiling of your porch is painted a dark color, maybe if you went lighter the light would reflect better in this area and be more inviting.

Put a wooden garden bench painted the same color as a new front door on the landing to brighten the space. It's the custom down south, even though you're up north, to paint porch ceilings a pale turquoise!

That huge, white driveway is a problem for me. Instead of adding stone to the building, maybe you could have the drive stained and stamped in a stone pattern so it isn't such an eyesore.

decoenthusiaste - I agree but the stamped concrete doesn't stand up real well to the plowing and salting required to keep driveways clear in the winter time :/

I like your house ..and I like that the garage doors blend in with the house . The only thing that is missing in my view is landscaping along the drive way ..perhaps a beautiful flowering tree on the left side of house ...and you have a beautiful house ! Congratulations !!

Yes, just some shrubs along the drive way ...it's nice as is ...and yes on a different color front door ...!

Thanks for all the tips and advice, we've spoken with our contractor and are working on ordering a new front door and adding pillars for accent. The attached drawing is pretty crude but I think it gives the general idea.

To make the garage doors less prominent, paint both doors to match the walls around them. Changing the doors would be a waste of money. The color is the only change you need. Paint the front door a brighter color which can be seen from the street.
