We currently have a 1/2 bath downstairs near the office. We'd really like to make the office and powder room a guest suite for my mother so she can stay comfortably for extended visits. The room is 11'x15', plenty large enough to take up to three feet to add a shower to the existing adjacent 5'2"x6'6" powder room. The downstairs room is currently an office with no built-in closet. We'd like to cheat into the hall and move the door to make room for a 3x8 closet (possibly a walk-through to the new bath, not sure). The closet would make the office a true bedroom, provide much needed storage, and create a sound barrier between the new guest suite and the main living area. What are we missing? Does anyone know a good source for elder/accessible design ideas? Thanks!
