Post pictures of the quartz you're considering so we don't have to guess what they look like.

    is this one of them?

your cabs look like an off white. are they? your backsplash looks like it has creamy tones and really doesn't work w/this type of marble-quartz

if you want help, post a picture so that we can see the colors of the tile

Te,,,post a closer pic of your glass backsplash so we can see the colors. and let us know what color white is on your cabs.

based on your photos, the quartz is a bright white compared to the creamy tones of your kitchen and tile

did you just install that backsplash? wondering why you're doing the countertops after.

or do you plan on removing that tile splash too?

so you do have some marble in the mosaic.

I like the idea of solid color countertop for the stove area

something like they've done here. see the solid, darker quartz along the back wall? then you could do the marble-look on the island.

    Britannica

    Eternal Serna. light gray

this one is Ceaserstone-Symphony. You may be able to use this for both.

take one of your doors, and some of your left over tile to a place that sells quartz. see how they look against one another while looking for the right color

Thank you Beth. I'm not sure now how off-white cabinets with Calcatta vicenza which is not true white but definitely brighter than my cabinets

I would not go with a brighter white than your cabinets. I would also reconsider a redo with the backsplash. It's such a small area & a different one could really change things.

I think you have a lovely kitchen, but my least favorite aspect of it is how the counters appear much cooler than your cabinets. If you are going to change your counters, I would avoid that warm/cool clash by getting counters that have a warm base. Make sure you take samples of everything you are considering home and hold them up next to your cabinets so that you can tell whether they compliment your cabinets or clash with them.

    Thinking about this cream countertop

Liked Carrara mist which has cream undertone

I honestly think its going to read very similar to your current countertops. Are you still keeping the backsplash?

    Current countertops are more busier

I love this but I’m afraid to try black

    Why? Black would be amazing.

Black would be beautiful in your kitchen. There are some great black and gray granites with veining. They are not so busy and would not clash with the warm white. I went from a marble look “quartz” to a black granite. Kitchens not done, but I now really prefer the darker counter look. In my opinion, nothing beats real stone. I don’t know your flooring though...so that could be a consideration.

You've got a lot of pattern going on with the tile backsplash. To avoid a clash and/or visual clutter, I would go with a solid color counter top, no grains or patterns.

I agree with creekgirl about keeping it simple.
Can you take a picture including the floor?

the black with just a couple veins would be my pick....for the island...setting your pottery/fruit basket/a green plant on that...WOW..without a doubt!!!!!

We've lived in our current home for 7 years. Initially, I thought the black granite (Volga Blue) would be great. But I have come to actually loathe it! (It will be changed in an upcoming remodel.) So much for drama - the question is, is it really livable for you?

Other color I liked is msi quartz Shell white

For my backsplash I’m thinking to try peel and stick

peel and stick?? with all the upgraded cabs/quartz? please, no. peel and stick looks cheap. (and they aren't cheap to buy either) You don't have a large area to tile, so just wait to pick something until you decide on the countertop

So your current backsplash is NOT staying?

your cabinets look like a warm off-white so stay away from super white or blue-grayish white countertops. they won't work well together. (unless in person it doesn't read that way)

these are all warm white kitchens

a soapstone or quartz soapstone would look great

look at a Calacatta quartz (this one is made of porcelain )

Thanks Beth but Brittanica is super white. The quartz I posted are cream undertone
  • 7 years ago

I like the black with your cabinet color

the Brittanica I posted is the warm one. not the other standard Brittanica (the bright white), hence the name, 'Brittanica Warm". the calacatta quartz options tend to run on the creamier side.

as for the photos you're posting, one looks cool and one looks warm. you're asking an opinion and based on the photo you posted, they don't work together. But since you're seeing them in person, and you think they match, then get what you like.

and you didn't answer. is the backsplash for sure going? That makes a big difference in what you choose.

I don't get the feeling that the OP doesn't want our help.
