The cable is back there my husband says. So the TV has to stay. We had the table in that area before and then just moved it. How would you setup the coffee bar/lounge on the other side? I like that idea.

Yes and I even have another desk that would be bigger , we don’t have an office, so need something!

You need to consider where your children will play and how you will store the toys and art supplies when they aren't in use.

Its getting warm enough to pitch the tent outside! Try one of your sofas at that triple window and see if you'd like to go that direction. Cheap to move cable, so I'd put the TV left of the sliding door and do a TV area separately from the FP and conversation side. Do you have the budget for some armchairs? I prefer the dining area where you have it by the kitchen. It looks awkward to have the white china cabinet next to the sliding door, IMO.

Try it there. You could do that and add a pair of chairs facing the back wall where you could move the TV. See how you like the sofa there.

I'm not 100% clear on what you are trying to do. But...it looks like you moved to dining table so it's to the side of the kitchen. I see the logic in that and it looks nice in the photo. But I'm confused when you said you budgeted for a small table and chairs. Do you mean another eating area, besides the dining table and island. Or...? And then there seemed to be some interest in putting your desk there. Any of that makes sense, but I'm not clear on what the priorities/goals are.

Setting that question aside, when I look at your pics (with the dining table in the new location) it makes me think this other half of this room could be a "great room" with two seating areas, one around the fireplace and one on this other half of the room. I'd be curious to see how this areas looks with that one sofa moved from under chandelier so it's not cutting the space in half. I'm not generally a fan of sectionals, but I can picture one here against the "cow" wall and window wall, maybe with a sturdy square coffee table that the kids could sit at and color or play games. (and you could keep an eye on them). Or maybe move those two existing sofas (they match, right?) into that area and buy new furniture for the fireplace area. (?) Personally, I have a really hard time picturing anything. But if were me, I'd start by clearing out everything that won't stay (the kids toys?). And then maybe borrow some of the existing furniture to move into that space and play around rearranging it to get a sense of how it might work. Not sure if any of this is helpful in the least. Your place looks cute! Whatever you do it will turn out lovely, I'm sure.

I think a round or oval coffee table and 4 club chairs would make a nice seating area that is variable enough to be moved and configured as you like.

If you need storage for kids toys, a built in bookcase on the cow wall would work well.
