I agree with hollybar, move it a little more under your sofa. Other than that I love your rug and think your room looks very cozy.

Beautiful rug. Yes to what others said. Move the rug back further under the sofa so you can see a strip of wood between the rug and the hearth. Excited to see how this room evolves. It is a beautiful space and the rug really cozies it up.

Rug looks fine but what about your seating arrangement? That's not cozy.

If you rearrange the furniture, you'll be able to place a larger TV on the wall and still be able to watch TV and appreciate the fireplace

Try Beverly's arrangement. When you do, center the rug between the hearth and the opposite wall. See how that feels.

I’d try to get at least 6” between hearth and rug to give the floor some breathing room. Is that a TV on a basket next to the fireplace?

Personally, I think the rug is too big for the room because it is very close to the fire place, BUT you could always move it under the couch like everyone else suggested. Problem solved. Love the rug. Post new pic. :)

Scoot the rug under the couch more, it will be fine! Looks almost perfect! Nice job.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments! I’m actually returning it because unfortunately looks too yellow. Getting this one in 8x10. I’d love to change the sitting arrangement but this is the only room we have to entertain and watch tv so we need a big sofa. I was thinking the C&B sofa plus ottoman (to be used as chaise but with more flexibility) and a chair such as the Irving from PB. Would love some feedback in that!!

I have the Axis Lounger (I think that’s the name) so the chaise part can be switched to either side plus swivel recliner in a similarly narrow room.

To me I think the scale of the pattern is too small. May be it’s me
