Pretty pleased with my new digs

I'm sure most of you know that I've moved from over a acre to a small city lot. I missed out on a community garden spot a couple of blocks away and had some injuries that prevented me from having a garden the first year.

Last year we cleared out a huge diseased rose bush and were able to plant a few tomatoes, a couple of peppers an eggplant and a squash.

The previous owners made it look like there was a 4x8 bed, but it ended up being a container for construction rubble (grrrrr). We had that emptied and filled with good soil over the winter, so now we have....3 tomatoes, 3 peppers, 1 zuk, 1 crookneck, green beans, leeks, lettuce, beets, chard, lemon cukes, last of snow peas.

I am missing my asparagus bed, but having to wait 3 years to harvest and the lack of space, I'll just have to suck it up and buy from the store or farmers market. Also won't have room for tomatillos, but they're cheap.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I am able to grow in the small space I have! Nancy
