Advice on Windows

I live in an extremely hot climate and have to replace these old windows, and I am on a significant budget. I have gotten a quote to replace these windows with double pane low E white vinyl windows. As much as I love the look of black frames, they are 45% more than white vinyl, so white vinyl it is. Plus the white is more energy efficient in our climate.

I am doing a single hung window on the bedroom to improve safety (fire exits, ect.) and on the sides of the house are tall short large windows (almost clerestory), I am going to do an xox sliding windows. So, if I have curtains there won't be a pane in the middle obstructing the view when the window is closed. I am having a hard time with the main window and the corner window near the carport... I am thinking a single hung on each side of the picture window and a single hung on the front of the corner with 2 side by side single hung facing the carport (the front corner is 2 panes the carport 3)- they said the window manufacturer doesn't make a single hung as wide as the window facing the carport. I think the corner windows are pretty cool even if they mainly face the carport and don't want them to look weird. I also like all windows to open, as when the weather is nice I like the breeze and venting in the house at the same time- almost all these windows have great mountain views right across the street.

Also, not sure what color I will paint the house with such bright white vinyl windows. I initially wanted black windows and paint the house white with some wood accents- like modern vintage farm.

Any advice or tips- I don't want to ruin the era of the home, but I also would rather this mid-century ranch have a little modern take than traditional.
