Are you open to painting the shutters also?

I'm thinking you like a cottage feel. I see the flower box under the window and the square window panes. If that is the case, you need to get a larger flower box for that window, it is much too small. If you are open to paint the railing also, I would paint it white.

Is your house color SW Universal Kakhi? I owned a home that was this color and I painted the door a red that had a hint of burgendy in it. It was a Lowe's color. My shutters were painted a similar color to yours. I feel that it really popped.

You asked for other suggestions for improvement so I would recommend replacing your front porch fixture (by the door). It is way too small. Most lighting professionals agree that what you select in a lighting store will only look about half that size from the street. If you can replace it, go with one that is about 1/4 the height of your door. I also would replace the window box with one that is either white like your trim or matched to the color of your shutters or house.

Yes paint the door add a new railing in white painted wood and widen the walkway by adding a couple of rows of brick along the outside. PS the brick should be flush with the cement so no tripping hazard.

If you can paint the whole house, I would lighten it up, paint the front door and shutters navy blue, and paint the brick on the little porch and railing white! You can play with colors and see how the look on the Sherwin Williams web site. They have a color visualizer you can upload a pic of your house and try different options!

Hi, Try painting it your favorite color. I love houses that have multiple colors. Right now your house is beige, trim is white and shutters are green. I love bright doors, like the red suggested. We did a bright tropical dark blue door and get lots of positive feedback. Our FL house is bright yellow with white trim, green porch and the bright dark blue door.

Assuming you will need to keep your storm door, I would consider using a darker color (maybe the shutter green or do the doors and shutters both a dark bronze or black. Finish or buy the storm door to match the wood one behind it. Otherwise it will hide most of your efforts. Try to still outline the door in your off white color so it appears to be trim as around your windows, etc. You can use it on the vertical corner boards and perhaps add a trim piece (like a fascia board) to connect those two right under the eave to create an off-white 'trim' frame around the door space. If the storm door is eliminated, all bets are off - consider any/all colors. Your palette is soft, warm tones and dusky , so stick to similar characteristics with any color you choose and it will look nice !

I believe you should add a small porch that is nearly even with the threshold of your entry way so that no one has to step up into the house or down onto the top step. I have this same problem with the back door off my kitchen, and I know what a hazard it can be. I love the quadruple windows to the right of your door, but I wonder if you would like to remove the window that is closest to the door, leaving you with triple windows, OR moving the left window to the right end to allow more space between the door and the set of windows? Then, I would suggest, if possible, you have a matching set of windows to the left of the door. I know this is a lot of work, but matching windows will add to the cottage style of your house. I agree with another poster that matching white sconces that flank the door would look nice. Considering your color scheme, I agree with another poster that a coral door would look nice with the khaki siding and the dark green shutters.
