Was it too heavy for anyone?

My handyman just left and is worried that this chandelier is too heavy and could maybe fall. It is 35 pounds! He wants me to ask my electrician if it is safe to hang without doing a lot of restructuring in the ceiling. I don’t want to send it back, but I’m scared to death of it falling on my glass dining table. Help!

OMG, me too. I can't believe no one else has posted this problem. It's way to heavy to meet code for a regular hook up. I got estimates btwn $500-$700, to have it hung correctly. I don't have attic access, is part of my problem. There are several other chandeliers, that look just like this one, they all weigh 18 lbs, this is a disaster. I can buy the 18 lb one for $450, that would still be cheaper than paying to have this one installed. I'm SO sad. This one said "No Returns"...

OMG, I can't believe you are the only other person who has mentioned this. I've been quoted $600 + to have it installed, partly because I don't have attic access. You also have to get a separate permit if you are changing to a different type of light. This is a disaster, and it was a no return item for me, not sure about the rest of you. I did find several chandeliers that look the same, but cost much more, they all weigh 18 lbs..... I would have saved money buying the more expensive one, in the end... I hope you get yours figured out. I don't know what I'm going to to.
