Hope it works this time.........

I can't believe it is July and the year is half over! Time goes by way to fast. I have several quilts in various stages of progress....some need sandwiching, some quilting, and I have a couple more that I'm rolling around in my mind in the planning stages. Three of my sisters and a close friend are coming tomorrow(3rd) to spend the holiday weekend on the lake. It is supposed to rain some, but I hope we can enjoy the water and get some sun and relax together. I won't be back at my machine until next week sometime. Happy Independence Day to all and happy quilting, too!

I don't think I will set any specific goals for July or maybe even Aug. We have to get these health issues of DH's taken care of first. But every time I go down to do laundry, I will sit at the machine. July BOM will be the first. What I am doing also, in free minutes, is working on a counted cross stitch birth announcement. Great grand #3, a boy is due in October.

We got off our cruise this morning and arrived in London this afternoon! We fly home on Monday. I have a clarinet choir concert on the 21st but I'm hoping to finally get some sewing time this month.

Once I finally climb the stairs to quilt, I'll be working on the Zelda graduation quilt for my friend's son. He leaves for college beginning of August, but I don't think I'll have it done by then.

The weather in Minneapolis has been purely tropical for the last week. It's only 70 right now at 8:30 a.m., but the humidity is 87%! It's been raining a lot. My yard has been growing like a rain forest. I can't keep up with the weeds. So, it's a good time to stay indoors in the A/C and quilt. I hope to get two quilts quilted this month - a baby quilt for a new great-nephew coming this fall and Strip Twist, which has been promised to my good friend. And of course, I'll have to find a new pattern to start piecing now that Crossroads is finished. I have no idea what that will be. I guess I'll have to start browsing my books and photos.

Plans and plans and more plans. Whether it's sewing or not, we have things to do!

Char, Let us know what pattern makes the top of the list. Maybe make two. lol Theresa, Hopefully those bad health issues in your household will come to an end soon. Just sitting at your machine when you're in the area is a good idea. Donna, It's probably going to be a couple days of rest time for you. lol Hope you had an enjoyable time. Bev, I'm embarrassed to admit I never finished the Zelda I started. I don't know what happened because I got right down to the last couple of things to make and was enjoying it. I still have everything on the cookie sheet so someday I hope to get back to it. You know we'll want pictures. Lois, You are so organized! All your ducks (quilts) in a row. That's kind of what I'm trying to do. Unfortunately, thinking about what all I'll need for a short cruise and packing is hurting my head. Oh well, being with family comes first. :-) Let us know what you decide to do.

I have 5 of 10 BOMs completed and pieces cut for parts of 4 more. Hoping to get to the post office tomorrow to get the June birthday quilt sent. I forgot I need to work on the WIP pink baby quilt I would like have done sooner rather than later. :-)

Hope you had a super time! Was there a ladies' fashion display?

Theresa, Yes, we had a good time, and no picture of the ladies since we couldn't compete with the guys. lol Donna, We left out of Cape Canaveral, so it was sunny and warm. The only sun I got was walking through the pool area to get to the restaurant. lol We sought out the shady places on deck for lunch since 'we know sun' and what it can do.

This is what I did today in hope of making about 20 more for the kids in my granddaughter's elementary class. Book Bags:

Except for making Chunky Churn Dash blocks as leaders and enders, nothing else got done this month but 5 more book bags. Nothing else done on the baby girl quilt but I did dig out some fabric for the next border and decide how to put it together. I guess that's something. :-)

Lois posted her Chunky Churn Dash quilt 2 years ago (July 24, 2017) and I've been making them off and on ever since. lol I have about 20 made with a few more kitted and ready to sew. I find they go together pretty quickly as I use them with the bags.
