I have a open house plan having dark brown wood floor and also I have dark furniture. Wanted to know what rug color will suit dining and living area. Posting the foto of both areas.

    Agree... enough blue

I would do a cream on cream rug. Something like this zebra.

Then I would do some large art on the wall

I would also untie your draper panels and let them hang straight down. The way you have them makes them look dated.

Agree let the drapes free! I actually love just the sheers..I would remove the heavy panels..with that large dark sectional it would be nice without the dark blue drapes. The bold blue pillows make a statement On their own! I would remove the dark matching ottoman and replace it with silver and glass round.

Can buffet fit on large wall instead of in front of window?

You could also use an area rug at the sectional. The dark floor and the dark sectional and ottoman are being absorbed without the contrast of a rug here. If you like having the ottoman instead of a coffee table I would get an oversized white round tray to sit on top or a oversized metal one to break up all that gray.

The lighting is transitional..the buffet is traditional and that big pitcher/pottery looks like more of a pottery barn casual look..and the tree pot is mid century..a bit confused on the overall style..I think it Needs a few tweaks;)

Calling Sby S, calling Sby S….

Definitely let the panels hang loose and do you need the sheers?

I’m seeing a warmer color on the floor and nixing the white pillows because they are just too white.

Homeinteriorswithease…so sorry. I am sure you have been told all the right stuff to do for your foot, but, been there, myself. Keep it elevated and don’t be afraid of loading up on ibuprofen. Take the maximum amount with lots of water. Let the kids wait on you. They will love to take over your role.

    Thanks JudyG and Kurln:)

Judy thanks so much for the info but unfortunately I cant take Motrin or anything with aspirin in it..I have been on blood thinners for 30 years! That’s another story:))) I did buy these amazing socks that you put in the freezer and than slide on your foot...it works so good..cold on top of foot and bottom..so it really hits the right spot..I broke the 5th metatarsal bone..and fractured the 4th one....the 5th is hardest one to heal very little blood flow that is why they needed to add a screw...everyone has been so thoughtful here on Houzz!

Julie, ouch! sorry to hear. try some pain killers at least! just take one of the 5mg, once a day. it will be enough to help, but you won't have to worry about becoming hooked. Hell, you might as well have some fun while you're laid up!

You made me laugh Beth! Those darn pain killers had some just after surgery ...only gave a handful for use for the first few days..those are long gone..I am on my own with ice and Tylenol!

I dropped the post while I was on bed and almost slept off. Thanks all for sharing the comments.

I was also thinking on cream color rug however my concerns were if food gets dropped or any spill happens then it can ruin the rugs. Hence was thinking of a mix and match or even a warmer natural toned.

Thanks Beth for your inputs . Hope you will receive soon .

My hubby is on Xaralto (sp?) and he can only take ibuprofen, too. I don’t know what you issue is Home Interiors, but his was AFib for 25 years. If that is your issue, I will spare the details here. He had a super successful treatment I will share if you are interested.

A rug with white or blue would work well here. Note the images we posted and the rugs in them.
