Pop Up mixer cabinet

We are renovating our new house and in the kitchen design we have a cabinet with a pop up mixer shelf. Our daughter bakes a lot so we thought this would be a great feature. The problem is, now that I'm looking over the design we seem to be lacking storage for pots and pans and need more drawers

overall. I'm rethinking the layout a bit and started looking for recent threads on the pop up mixer option in kitchen designs. Haven't found ANYTHING since 2012. Is this a feature that isn't popular, are we wasting precious cabinet and potential drawer space? We do have an appliance garage in the same area so maybe we can just keep the mixer there?

I think they are still popular for those who can use one and if I'd wanted one, I'd not hesitate to put one in. I remember reading posts of people who truly love theirs. Me? Nah. I need the space (yeah, you are right, they take up quite a bit of space) for pots and pans, etc.

Aside from the fact that I have an Ankersrum, which wouldn't fit on one of those (but is also a heavy beast), I most likely would not choose to have one as the purpose is to leave them on the pop-up shelf... and I'd make a mess on either side. I like having measuring spoons and cups, pre-prepped beside my mixer, ready to add ingredients. I like spatulas at the ready. So again, I'd opt out. But, I do think they are incredibly handy for those that have difficulty lifting a mixer, and see a use for them in many kitchens.

I think if you search under mixer lift you might find more. We just installed one-but kitchen isn’t done so haven’t actually used it yet :). It’s cool though!

I think we would need to see your floor plan to be able to help in this kitchen which was quite small foor print the cabinet under the lemons is the pop up mixer stand it is beside a lazy suasna with all the baking ingredients and the drawer to the set of drawers to the left of the lift holds bking pans, utensils bows etc. My client has a B&B bakes every day and love that whole space . I on the other hand also bake a lot and just have my mixer on the counter I think it is a decision made best with a good kitchen design not just this one item.A floor plan will give us some idea of the size of the kitchen and I certainly understand the need for drawers for pots .

See attached floor plan. First time using advice on Houzz and didn't realize I had to save photo to my profile or it wouldn't attach. Thank you. We have a lot of space (not pictured is a walk in pantry across from kitchen desk area). I think I need more drawers though so trying to decide if we just don't do the pop up mixer cabinet and combine that with adjacent base cabinet to do a long drawer on top with double door cabinet beneath for pots and pans.
