Thanks for the mock ups! i suppose i was thinking of something a bit less cottagey and more grown up - the whole house looks quite neutral and perhaps with this room we can be a bit more bold or at least make it look a bit less like my grandmas house

You're only letting us see a portion of a cushion so I don't know where the idea of 'cottagey' is coming from. So far I would suggest the appearance is being more influenced by your wall color and not a neutral colored sofa.

Here are rooms with linen sofas and they don't appear like grandma's house to me.

It’s the classic pink color family issue in a tan that is made more prominent by the green wall. Green intensified the pinky look. You need something in the same color family to not have the issue in your face. Stay away from greens and yellow color families.

Current colors.

Pale and calm.

Brighter and more vibrant.

Your idea books seem to show you lean towards sophisticated palettes. What would you think about F & B Dove Tale? I think it could be quite nice for the snug.

A green wall will always bring out the pink in any beige color.

Wow thank you for all the feedback. In regards to the colour of the sofa, I'd say it verges on the taupe end of the scale but it's more of a beige/biscuit colour than a pinkish hue.

BeverlyFLADeziner, I LOVE some of the designs you've shared - in particular the top two from Atlanta Homes. This is a very similar look to what we're going for in the other living room where we're keeping everything very neutral.

I suppose I'm torn between recreating this look in the snug (which is a different style of space - low ceilings, small room, less natural light) or trying something completely different altogether....

I like your sofa with the current wall color. Using some of the suggestions in Beverly's example photos will give you a more sophisticated room.
