When a pumpkin is the only one on a well-fed vine it will quite large.

The green fence was to keep rabbits out of my raised garden but it actually helped the vine grow out of the garden and start moving across my area of Ice plant. I thought I had bought regular pumpkin seeds but when it started getting big i went back and look at the seed packet. It read Atlantic Giant. My neighbors love seeing get bigger and bigger and keep laughing.

Atlantic Giant is grown primarily as a show pumpkin. The US record is 2363 Lbs . World record is 2624 lbs. More normal growth range for Atlantic Giant is 400-500 lbs. and yes , I have seen the 400 pounders carved with a chain saw.

My neighbors can't believe how big it is. I said was just growing a few pumpkins for Halloween. It just kept growing bigger and bigger. I guess I can just roll it to my front yard and put a my landscape light inside it. It would actually look pretty amazing. Any other suggestion?

I am now fighting powdery mildew on my pumpkin and cantaloupe leaves, boy that stuff spreads fast. Is this the end of my plants?
