It sounds like at first you are replacing the white cabinets...then it sounds like you are keeping them???

Sorry, I meant counter tops. The white cabinets, and white appliances have to stay.

Your kitchen does look very nice, but I understand if you just want a new look! A lot depends on what you wish to achieve...do you want it to look more sleek and modern (I'd go with dark granite) or clean and fresh (a lighter color with flecks of color).

Soft gray granite or cashmere white granite counters would be pretty with a subway tile backsplash. They offer many colors in subway tile....

I think a dark granite (black or brown) with a backsplash of white tiles with black or brown accents would go nicely with your cabinets.

A new top to the island (quartz looks better than granite for me) and maybe a new island or new color, new shade, (roman or shutter) new apliances, a lamp, and a new kitchen fucet. I dont think you need a new top inthe rest of the kitchen. And get rid of all the stuff over the cabinets. Doesnt look good and keeps dust and bacteria that goes to your food!
