Good greif why such a dark ceiling in a poorly lit space paint the ceiling white and the walls a very plae blue or green to give the illusion of more light.

Well, hard to get a warm feel in a literal cave. I'd go for a light tan, maybe something like Sherwin Williams “Simplify Beige”.

Close in the ceilings and paint white there is nothing attractive about a bunch of pipes painted dark gray not matter man cave or not.
