Bathrooms & Laundry Layout

Hello!

I’ve loved reading all the previous helpful posts and would greatly appreciate some feedback on my upcoming home renovation. :)

Please see attached floor plan for reference.

  1. I plan to have side by side w/d in the laundry room. Is it better to place w/d on the rear wall or side wall? Ideally, I’d also like to fit a small utility sink but I’m struggling with placement and finding a sink that is less than 15” wide.

I’m drooling over the wall mounted cast iron sinks but they’re incredibly pricey and may also be too big. :( Inspiration photo attached.

  1. For the hall bathroom, is 60” too small for double sinks (ie is it better to have more counter space but only one sink vs double sinks but less counter space)?

This bathroom will be shared by two boys and occasionally guests, in case that’s relevant. I also plan to switch the door opening so it opens to the right instead of bumping into the tub.

  1. In the master bathroom, is a shower space of 40”x53” spacious enough? Is it better to reconfigure the master bathroom where I only have a single sink with the toilet next to it and have the shower take up most of the length of the side wall (almost 8’)? Please note there is a chimney chute that is limiting the expansion of the shower to the bedroom wall.

Thanks in advance! :)
