Picked it prob a week ago. 10 lb er. the green wasn't real intense on the green part of the striping.

When I vegetables peeler the CUSHAW the first skin prob 1/16 inch or less is light green The center is orangish so should I have left I longer in the hot windy sun in my hoop house bin???

I didn't even know I planted it. I might have had a cushaw bought yrs ago. not sure. and saved seeds!!!

Thought I was planting a bought( "Grower said") prob was "BUTTERSCOTCH...butterscotch ""butternut SQUASH seeds . He had planted back in 2018. I bought quite a few of his late small ones and stored. they were delicious

I saved those seeds and I thought I had planted those in peat cups. they all ...if I remember germinated. In the same wire RAIsed 2 to 3 ft tall wire beds

. also I had germinated sev packaged "Table queen " variety acorn squash seeds .0ler seeds packed. only two seeds were viable. or germinated anyway

I thought maybe they did . the..... BBBBBBbees pollinated all that.... and crossbreeded the acorn and butternut. But looks up and Voila into on web aid CUSHAW.....

The second one I picked cause the vines have intense powdery and downy mildew and running into them hanging in my face in my hoop house. the former jungle looking beautiful climbing vines are withering and browning now..

the caterpillars and moths are everywhere...THE destructors I call them.

SO DID I PICK IT TOO EARLY????. No the stem was starting to turn a little golden but still green..

thanks all gonna it it anyway baked like I bake pumpkin eat it regular or with apples or little honey... and maybe little cinammon, nutmeg etc. Im def not a pump pie er... person. yuk

Funny when I say pumpkin ...people say "PIE"..... Duh l can eat it it baked like nature intended some so sweet on their own most times.
